We are not a commercial enterprise, and
there is a very good reason for this - we have absolutely no intention of competing with
the publishing companies; far from it, since our goal is to support them by cooperating
with them!
Bringing out a book for sale in bookshops primarily means having access to media
coverage and, especially, a distribution network at national and international level
a host of aspects that are incompatible with the Internet.
Whoever wishes to publish a book can thus contact a regular publisher, but their
chances of being accepted are slim and, even if published, the prospects of making any
money are remote since the majority of publishers require a fee from authors, especially
if they are little known.
We seek to address the 99% of thinkers and writers who wish to make themselves known to
the general public that uses the Internet and to make contact with their readers or other
authors. In this sense, La Plume Verteâ is a platform
of experimental publishing for those who, from the outset, voluntarily decline to make a
profit from their writing. As such, authors keeps full rights but, in exchange, assume
entire and indivisible responsibility for the content of their publications. They thus
have the possibility of transforming their publications into publicity pages at any time
(at no additional cost) as soon as a publisher has been found.
How does La Plume Verteâ differ from other sites? It
is different in that it is not a commercial venture. The amount the author pays serves
only to cover publication costs. In return, he or she receives adequate circulation space
(up to 8 or 10 books) to be use as wished for a year. Nor is there the possibility of
"chatting on-line" preserving anonymity. We want to be a serious, transparent
platform, open to all the thinkers of this world - in three languages for the moment.
You have the possibility of loading the works of your choice and printing them up when
it suits you. You can also forward them privately to friends, but you are not permitted to
use them on a commercial basis, since authors' copyrights are protected by the provisions
of current legislation. If you wish to publish a text for non-profit purposes (press,
circular, leaflet, etc.), you must ask for written authorisation from the author
beforehand, whom you can contact at the address indicated (usually an e-mail address).
If you wish to send us a work, you need to follow the procedure indicated. From the
time the author validates his or her message, he or she recognizes the above conditions.
Authors therefore have two options from which to choose publication and/or
publicity.
If an author would simply like publicity for a work already available in bookshops,
this is possible. In this case, he or she should also follow the procedure indicated and
send us a cheque to cover the relevant costs to the following address:
